Why the usual way fails
Counting in your head breaks the moment you are interrupted, and in a shop or a stockroom you are always interrupted. A phone app needs a free hand, an unlocked screen and your eyes on the phone instead of the shelf. A mechanical clicker counts one thing, so you have to write the number down and zero it before you can start the next item. Paper tallies get smudged, lost, or end up on the back of a delivery note nobody can find.
How Tally Counter App for Wear OS helps
Tally Counter keeps up to eight named counters on your Wear OS watch, so each item or shelf gets its own number. You count with a tap on the screen or a turn of the crown or bezel, and the step size can match how the stock is packed, so one tap can mean one case instead of one unit. When an item is done, lock its counter so a bumped wrist can't change it. The counts stay on the watch and need no phone connection, which helps when the phone is on the desk at the front of the shop.

Step by step
- Before you start, create one counter per item or location and name it, for example Oat milk or Aisle 3 top.
- If you count by the case, set that counter's step size to the case size, such as 6 or 12.
- Set a target if you already know the quantity the stock system expects.
- Count with a tap or the crown, and glance at the complication when you need to check where you are.
- When an item is done, lock its counter and copy the number to your sheet or system.
- Reset counters only after the numbers are recorded. Resets ask for confirmation, and the last one can be undone.
Tips
- Decide what one tap means before you start, and don't change it halfway through. If the first shelf is counted in cases and the second in single units, the total on the watch is correct and useless at the same time. Use two counters instead.
- Count full cases and loose units separately. A counter with a step of 12 takes the full cases, a counter with a step of 1 takes the loose ones, and you add the two when you write the result down.
- Lock each counter as soon as you finish that item. Reaching into a shelf or lifting a box is exactly when a sleeve brushes the screen, and a locked counter stays where it is.
- Write the numbers down before you clear them. The counts are stored on the watch, so until you record them somewhere else, the watch is the only copy of your stock count.
Questions
How many different items can I count at once?
Up to eight. Each counter can have its own name, so you can tell them apart at a glance.
Source: play.google.comCan one tap add a whole case?
Yes. Set the step size anywhere from 1 to 100 and each tap adds that amount.
Source: play.google.comCan I send the counts to a spreadsheet?
The store listing doesn't describe an export. Counts are stored locally on the watch, so plan to copy them into your sheet or stock system yourself.
